PLANNING PERMISSION GRANTED

On 9 April 08 Projekts Skatepark was granted planning permission to install the floodlights we've been so eagerly awaiting for the last few months. The permission was initially assumed to have been given before funding for the scheme was granted. This, however, was not the case. The last three months have been spent completing and filing the application for planning permision and awaiting the result. Without planning permision it would not be possible to have the floodlights installed.

FLOODLIGHTS COMING SOON

On 14th April 08, work will begin on the installation of floodlights for Projekts Skatpark. According the Amey, the company responsible for installing the lights, the work will take around a week to complete. This mean we should have operational floodlighting on 21st April. Watch this space....

ELECTRIC SHOCK

At long last it looks like we're getting some electricity at the Pump Cage! It's hard to believe, I know, but I've seen the trenches and cables with my own eyes. Check out the photos below:

The photo above shows the filled-in trench for the electricity cables. They've now been jointed to the junction box but not the skatepark yet, but I think we're nearly there....

....and now Amey have arrived to install the floodlights. They will also be digging up the beautifully tarmaced trench that United Utilities have just finished filling in!

And below is today's beard. This has been growing since (approxiamtely) 1st January and I'm not cutting or trimming it until we have operational floodlights. It's a kind of protest. Check out the Beard Blog and web album for more beardy photos: http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/johnnyhaines/MyBeardProtest
