  • Schools skateboard coaches

Projekts MCR currently works in ten primary schools and three high schools per week and we wish to increase our coaching capacity to 20 sessions per week by the start of 2020.

In order to meet this target we are looking to hire and train people to work as schools skateboard coaches. The job will mainly entail planning and delivering lunchtime and after-school skateboard clubs for primary and high school pupils, however, we are not limiting ourselves to those specific groups so other types of sessions may be available as well.

Applicants need to be confident, thoughtful, friendly, good with children, punctual, well organised, have a good phone manner and have at least some experience skateboarding. (We would like to stress that applicants do not need to be amazing skateboarders and that the aforementioned traits are much more important.)

Applicants will need to have their own way of transporting equipment to and from schools.

During initial training pay will be £7.05 p/r, this will increase to £8.75 p/h once our internal Level 1 coaching standard as been reached and this will further increase to £9.45p/h once our Level 2 coaching standard has been reached.

These new roles will be part time, approximately 12-15 hours per week, Monday-Friday, mostly afternoons. We are however, open to hiring multiple people to fill these hours so if you can only work some weekday afternoons we’d still love to hear from you.

If you would like to apply please make sure you write a cover letter and attach a c.v. to your application.

All applications need to be in by 18th October.

If you get an error message at the end of your application please resend your c.v. and cover letter to Jonny@projekstmcr.com.

  • Weekend Scooter Coaches

We are looking to start weekend scooter coaching classes and we’d like to hear from you if you think you are the right person to help set up and coach these sessions.

Applicants will need to be friendly, enthusiastic and have a desire to pass on their passion for scootering to the next generation.

You don't need to be amazing on a scooter to apply but you will need to be proficient as our plan is to run beginners, intimate and advanced classes for children and young people between 5-14 years old. It will also be necessary that you have a good working knowledge of scootering basics and that you understand how to break tricks down in order to teach someone else how to learn them.

Previous coaching or youth work experience would be beneficial but neither are essential. However, you will need a conscientious, proactive attitude, a love of the skatepark and a desire to help others.

Scooter coaching hours may vary but successful applicants will be required to work one day of the weekend.

Pay during training will be £7.05 p/h. Once training has been completed general scooter coaching pay will be £8.75/ph. Private lesson coaching will be paid at £15 per hour.

If you think you would be a good fit for these roles then we would love to hear from you.

Please make sure you write a cover letter and attach a c.v. to your application.

All applications need to be in by 1st November.

If you get an error message at the end of your application please resend your c.v. and cover letter to Jonny@projekstmcr.com.
